They established and ran an IBM authorised warranty repair workshop. We are a financially stable company with a High Street office and a successful history. Unlike many repair centres advertising on the Internet, we have a High Street presence and welcome visitors. You can bring your notebook to our workshop to avoid courier charges.  |

SPARE PARTS: We have a vast stock on new and used computer parts. Some rare parts are only available used. We prefer to use new parts wherever available and economical. We stock parts like adapters, backlight, batteries, system boards, cables, connectors, CPUs, DC sockets, disk drives, display parts, hard drives, fans, floppy drives, hinge sets, CCFL inverters, keyboards, LCD panels, modems, motherboards, mouse parts, power supplies, screen parts, TFT Panels and USB Connectors. We also have contacts with manufacturers and suppliers who can supply 90% of spare parts within 24 hours. We have contacts in the Far East and Europe who can supply parts for most generic models. COMMON NOTEBOOK FAULTS: Our engineers will quickly and efficiently repair the following faults: Keyboard replacement: Most keyboard problems are due to wear and tear or liquid spills. Replacing the keypad usually fixes most keyboard faults. Try to keep drinks away from your computer - a spill can result in a dead motherboard. Backlights: A dark screen with a faint image on the screen can be caused by four components: Motherboard, Cables, Inverter or a faulty CCFL in the TFT Panel. Please ensure that you have diagnosed the problem down to the correct component before ordering a part. If you are unsure about which exact part is faulty then send the computer to us. We have diagnostic tools that will determine where the fault is. DC Sockets: A DC Socket can break or become loose by moving the notebook with the power adapter plugged in. Most manufacturers will recommend replacing the motherboard. We can repair your existing motherboard and save you hundreds of pounds. We also have rare connectors. Do not switch on the notebook if you think that broken parts of the DC socket are loose in the computer - these can short circuit the system board and kill it. LCD Panels: We see a lot of broken/cracked LCD panels. Unfortunately, these would need to be replaced. We have a lot of panels in stock and can get hold of most others. Faulty system board, cabling or software can also cause display problems. Motherboard: Our engineers can repairs most faults on system boards. We have a success rate of 95% on motherboard repairs - unfortunately, the rest would need a costly replacement. Power surges, using unsuitable/faulty power adapters, liquid spills and static are major causes of motherboard problems. If your machine indicates that power is getting into the system and it still fails to boot then you probably have a suspect motherboard. Mouse/Touch Pad: We can get replacement parts to cure most problems. Liquid spills and dirt are common causes of Touch pad problems. Point stick faults usually need a keyboard replacement. Software: A lot of problems are caused by corrupted software. Virus infection can result in system crashes or poor performance. Update your antivirus software regularly to avoid expensive and disruptive repairs. Plastics: We can get most plastic part like panels, lids and bases. We can sometimes supply single keys for notebookss. Batteries: computer batteries are designed to last approximately one year. After that period they may hold less charge or fail completely. We can supply most batteries, but they can be very expensive. Overheating: These systems will typically switch on for a few minutes and then automatically shutdown. Well-designed systems will perform a proper shutdown others will crash or freeze. Listen out for the fan - if your system is more silent than usual or totally silent then you may have a fan problem. We can supply fans and cooling components for most netbooks. Systems may also have further problems caused by the overheating. Please avoid switching your netbook on if you suspect that it is overheating. System board chips may be permanently damaged by excessive heat. Hinge Repairs: The hinges on most makes of notebooks wear out after a few years. We can supply replacement hinges for most models.
